FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE by Wyatt Motorsports
August 28, 2007: Casey Wyatt
NASCAR Busch East Rookie, Whelen All-American Late Model Series, INEX Legends Series &
Pro-Winged Champ Kart Driver
Langley Speedway, HamptonVA- Casey returned to Late Model Racing in his Rogers Electrical Monte Carlo for Butch Britt racing this past weekend. At Langley Speedway, the Dodge manufacturer domination has had great hold on the Late Model series, so Casey and his Team 29 crew were excited about pacing the fastest laps in practice over the Dodges.
Qualifying was a bit exciting as Casey got sideways coming out of turn four due to miscalculations for tire pressures. This didn’t affect his effort tremendously as he put himself in fifth starting position for the 75 lap feature. At the start of the race, it was clear to all that the car was throwing everything that it could at Casey. It was a beast in the turns. This was extremely obvious when a challenge for position was mounted by driver Mark Wertz. Realizing his Rogers Electrical Monte Carlo wasn’t a winning car, he concentrated on protecting his position and keeping his car square off of the turns.
When the checkers flew, Casey brought home a strong 5th place finish just one position ahead of his Rogers Electrical teammate Dean Shiflett. This would cap off an extremely busy and successful weekend for him with four top 5’s, three of them being 3rd place finishes.
Casey Wyatt is a rookie in the NASCAR Busch East series for Wyatt Motorsports, whom competes as part of a three kart Pro-Winged Champ Kart team owned by Bill Mullis, a two car Whelen All-American Late Model team owned by Butch Britt and a two car 600 Racing Legend car owned by Dee Causey of Causey Racing.
